George is the host and executive producer of his national cooking & lifestyle television shows. Best known for his down-to-earth guy-next-door personality, George has been welcomed into millions of homes around the world through his informative and entertaining programs; both on Public Television and Syndicated Television. George Hirsch Living it UP! TV series highlights food, travel, recreation & home; with a living well aproach. With nine PBS cooking & lifestyle televisions series and completing his twelvth season in syndication, George Hirsch's TV programs are also reaching an international reach.
George Hirsch as executive producer and TV host, was the first production company with a cooking show to take cooking outside the indoor studio. His shows transformed the way cooking and lifestyle was perceived to millions of viewers and consumers with his ground breaking PBS shows. You may say he changed outdoor lifestyle forever. And it all began with the phrase, If I can do it, you can do it!
George has paved the way as an inspiration to a well lived lifestyle. His love for travel is evident in his shows as he features a diverse variety of travel destinations around the globe, culture, the arts and outdoor recreational activities; combined with George’s own interest and his willingness to try almost anything once. George is a multifaceted individual with a positive, compassionate and entertaining personality which comes across on camera.
George has authored five books. His most recent book is with the same title, George Hirsch Living it up! - all about attaining and maintaining a healthy active lifestyle with food.
One of Hirsch's most rewarding experiences is being Co-Founder and Chairperson Emeritus of the Chef and Child Foundation, a national program with over 20,000 American chefs dedicated to fighting hunger and emphasizing nutrition among the young. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the American Culinary Federation.
George currently serves on the advisory council of Jessica Seinfeld’s foundation, Babybuggy.org.
Prior to his national television series, George was the host of a weekly television segment on News 12 Long Island. You have seen him on many local and national talk shows, such as The Today Show, Weekend Today, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, Later Today, MSNBC, and CNBC.
George has made appearances at numerous events for major corporations. He has also served as a media and product development consultant, and corporate spokesperson.
George resides in the Hamptons in New York.
