 Care tips for poinsettias.  

- Keeping poinsettias healthy in cool climates takes a little extra attention.

- Always keep poinsettias away from drafts.  

- They should be placed in an area that generally stays around 60 degrees.  

- Keep poinsettias away from fireplaces and vents and high traffic areas as the stems snap quite easily. 

- You may have to stake the poinsettia if it is tall and leggy.  

It is very important to keep the humidity level high to prevent the flowers from droop.  Dry air is an enemy to the plant. Mist the poinsettia often or place a tray of pebbles underneath the pot filled with water.  If the plant begins to dry out, place a humidifier behind your plant.

Let the surface of the soil dry a bit before watering.  If your poinsettia is wilting and then dropping the lower leaves, you’ve probably been over-watering it.
